My name is Chris Workman, and I am honored to be the founding pastor of CrossTrail Community Church. I was raised in a Christian family with parents who were devoted to ministry and foreign mission work. I grew up primarily in Dallas, which means you might have to forgive my allegiance to Dallas sports teams, although I also cheer for UNC. I’ve always been a careful student and independent thinker. I’m adventurous, active, kind and passionate about things that are important to me, among which are family, staying fit and making a difference with my life. More than anything, I absolutely love Jesus and helping others come to know him or move closer to him. I’m married to a wonderfully gifted and supportive wife named Michele, who is a certified wedding planner and entrepreneur. Between the two of us, we have three adult children, two young grandchildren and a huge golden retriever. I received my B.A. in Bible and M.A. in New Testament from Freed-Hardeman University. I’ve been in professional ministry for over 30 years in Tennessee, Florida, Texas, Illinois, and here in Chapel Hill since 2017. I’m a two-time church planter and have pastored in small, medium and large churches over the years, including two multi-campus churches. My own journey of faith has been one of ups, downs, excitement, tears, and unexpected turns in the road–all leading to further growth, insight and a closer walk with Jesus.
